Beat of Life

A song written to Ludovico Einaudi’s “The Snow Prelude N.15” from his beautiful album ‘Nightbook’.

We met at a vernissage in Amsterdam
An Iranian art exhibition, at Castrum Peregrini
He was not my type, so I thought,
But I liked him, yes
I liked him / from the start
Guess he already had my heart
In fact, we’ve never been apart
What could I do?
Should I have let him go?

To the beat of life, I surrendered
To the beat of life, I surrendered
I went to the other side
Got crucified
‘Cause to the beat of life, I surrendered

We said goodbye in the night, and went our ways
There and then we were strangers
Through his eyes I see the world now
And not just fifty shades of grey
But I’m not prey to adultery –
Beauty reigns..

We met again at a vernissage, in Vienna
An international art exhibition, at the Heiligerkreuzerhof
But he was not for me, so they thought,
Though I love him, yes
I love him from the start
Guess he still has my heart
In fact, we’ve never been apart
What can I do?
Should I let him go?

I smell him everywhere, his touch enfolds my soul
I feel him everywhere -he’s still undressing my all

To the beat of life, I surrender
To the beat of life, I surrender
I’m traversing to the other side
So, crucify me!
‘Cause to the beat, the beat of life, I surrender
